Darko Å uvak was born in Zagreb. He obtained his BA in Cinematography from the Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Arts and his MA from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, where he lives. He has worked as a director of photography around the globe. His films and hundreds of TV commercials have garnered awards at festivals in Pula, Los Angeles, Madrid, Cannes, Toronto.
