Biography

Hatice Aslan was born on February 20, 1962 in the city of Sivas, Turkey. In 1983 she graduated from the State Conservatorium at the Ankara Univerzity. In 1986 she starts working for National Theater in Izmir. Soon after she begins teching at the State Univerzity in Ankara. This is a time when a lot of TV series are filmed in Ankara and Aslan stars in many of them. Later on she starts working for the National University in Istanbul and stars in the TV-shows “Roxelana”, “Kınalı Kar” and “The Last Fathers”. She had also roles in theater plays such as “The Immortal”, “Little Man, What Happened to You”, “The Inspector” etc. She played the main female role - Hacer in Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s feature film “Three Monkeys”. This brought her the Award for Best Actress at the seventh International Film Festival “River Run”. The Turkish Film Critics Association SIYAD also gave her the Award for Best Actress for the role in the film “Three Monkeys”. She also got the Best Actress Award at the Film Festival Altin Koza for the film “Vücut”, directed by Mustafa Nuri.
