Zeynep Dadak was born in 1978 in Balıkesir, Turkey. She has taught cinema at various universities. Since 2001 she has made a number of short films, music videos and documentaries. The film "Bu Sahilde," which she shot with Merve Kayan, premiered in the Rotterdam Film Festival Tiger Shorts Competition. Dadak has been working as a writer and publication board member for the Altıyazı Monthly Cinema Magazine since 2004. She edited "60′ların Türk Sineması" and "70′lerin Türk Sineması." In 2013 she shot the feature film "Mavi Dalga" (The Blue Wave) with Merve Kayan and won several awards in the 50th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.
