Mustafa Kara was born in 1980 in Turkey. Graduated from the Department of Radio & Television at Comhuriyet University. His debut feature, Hope Island (2006), was co-production between Turkey and the UK. He founded Karafilm Production in 2009. He has also directed a number of documentary films. Cold of Kalandar is his second feature.
