Visar Morina was born 1979 in Pristina. From 2004 - 2010, he studied Audiovisual Media with a focus on Film and Television at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. During his studies he worked on various film - and theatre projects and was among others assistance director at the Volksbuhne in Berlin as well as at the Schauspiel koln. His short film Der Schubling (2009) was awarded at several national and international festivals, also at TIFF as best international short film. His other short Of Dogs and Wallpaper competed in the internationl short film competition at the Locarno IFF 2013) and was nominated for the german shortfilm award in 2014. His debut feature film BABAI, was awarded at several international festivals such as karlovy Vary IFF 2015 for the Best Director.
