Antoneta was born in Dubrovnik, Croatia. From the age of seven she worked as an actress at the theater Marin Drzic in Dubrovnik. In 2009 she completed the master degree in Film and Theater Production at the Academy of Fine arts in Zagreb. She then moved to New York where she worked as assistant producer for Green Street Films and devoted herself to Directing shooting the feature documentary Rats. She is currently enrolled in the MFA program in Directing at Columbia University in New York. Antoneta has a personal angle to the story: as a teenager, she also spend a year living with a host family in Canada. She was instrumental in developing the story for The Real American in its early stages.
