SASA BAN was born in 1978 in Zagreb. He graduated in film and TV directing at the Academy of Dramatic Art. He also graduated in comparative literature and philosophy from the Zagreb Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in 2003. He has been a member of the Croatian Film Directors Guild since 2007. He received two awards at the 14th Croatian Film Days for his documentary “Park”. His short feature “Interior, Apartment, Night” was awarded at the 2009 Cottbus Film Festival. He has directed the following documentary TV series: “The Exchange”, “Travelling the World in College Shoes” and “Direct”. He has directed short documentary “Ana and her Brothers”, which was included in the official program of the 2010 Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. He won the Special Award at the 9th Zagreb Film Festival for his documentary “Land of Knowledge”. In 2013 he directed short fiction film "Prettyboy" produced by Kinorama.
