Self Portrait - Jovo Petrijevic

Synopsis:

Jovo Petrijevic is a sculptor of a very unusual opus and a specific method of work. He discovers form, makes woodcarvings out of a whole tree trunk, thus preserving the core and the energy of the piece. He shapes women nudes, athlets' bodies, abstract forms, religious motifs and a large series of sculptures of owls. His method is the most peculiar of all: Jovo hits the chisel with his right palm instead of a hammer, for forty years now.
