Synopsis:

Boris and Jana are about to get married. He hails from a wealthy family of butchers and plays trumpet in a jazz band. She is a psychologist from a classic bourgeois family. Their wedding present is Boris’s share in the family butcher’s shop, paid in cash. A few months later the young couple finds out about the business problems at the butcher’s, brought about by the gambling debt of Boris’s brother. This debt as well as her husband’s illegitimate son is discovered by Boris’s mother. Bo- ris decides to tackle the family drama resolutely. He takes care of the financial problems, starts working as a butcher, organises a Christmas dinner for all the family, and invites his potential halfbrother as well... A character drama and comical family saga.
