God Have Mercy On Their Souls

Synopsis:

While liberating Serbia from fascism in the autumn of 1944 and in early 1945, under the pretence of punishing “the enemies of the state and collaborationists”, the new partisan government also punished their political and class enemies. These processes, ranging from arrests and interrogations to mass executions on secret locations, were run by The Department of National Security, also known as OZNA. During the process, usually without any trials, OZNA secretly executed between 55 and 66 thousand citizens of Serbia. So far, the State Commission for Secret Graves has gathered the data about more than 215 mass execution sites in Serbia. Wild cleansing have affected all the classes of the Serbian society, but the principle target of OZNA were the Serbian intellectual elite, especially those from Belgrade. The Commission has registered more than 20 secret graves on the territory of Belgrade. Inside those graves, without any markings, are the remains of nearly 8000 people from Belgrade murdered in late 1944. This is a story about the actors from Belgrade and Serbia who were murdered without any trials.
