Synopsis:

“Requiem for Bobby Fischer” is a documentary about the most controversial chess player in history: Robert – Bobby Fischer. Through his opponents’ memories, the film follows his story from the first tournaments in Yugoslavia in the late 1950s to his repeated match against Boris Spassky in 1993. The film reveals different aspects of his personality: from publicly declaring himself as anti-American and anti-Semite to his fears, obsessions and genius. Rejected by his home country, the USA, Bobby fischer felt welcome in Yugoslavia where he met one of his closest friends – Svetozar Gligorić.
