The Croatian war was is at the heart of the narrative in Budjenje proleca (Flashback, Gordana Boškov, 1997), a kind of hybrid of a war film and an urban one. It speaks of the aftermath of war, of the incapacity to return to a normal life and the impossibility of leaving behind war memories, or forgetting those we’ve killed, those that are forever gone.
