Five persons - who could be one - cross paths briefly at the site of an archaeological dig in the days of the autumn equinox. Beside the ancient stones they will present their own modern version of the game played by their forefathers. EQUINOX is the first film by a restless intellectual, Nicos Cornlios who was born in Athens in 1954 and lived in Paris for fifteen years, studying and serving his apprenticeship in the theater, the worlds of music and architecture. The film could not but be the creation of such an individual. Architecture determines the relationship of the director - and his heroes - to the location (the archaeological site that served some function for ancient Greeks, for their descendants is merely a riddle to be solved). The theater as (among other things) a sequence of ritualistic movements, gestures, words and rhythms, dictates the constant and perpetually ineffectual attempt of these five people to communicate.
