Synopsis:

The film focuses οn the island of Ikaria in the 1940s. It is the end of the civil war and a small group of mountain guerillas interprets their party's decision «to lay down their arms», in their οwn way, thus instigating a series of dramatic events which were to last for six years. Their everyday life, the crucial situations, the solidarίty as well as the conflicts that arise among them, their relationship to the people of the island a people with the culture which, despite the directives of those in power and the political strategies of the era, has managed to maintain the power to function independently; these are events recorded in a film which seeks to reconstruct a part of modern Greek history that could be characterized as significant for the political and social status-quo in the following decades.
