Bergüzar Gökçe Korel Ergenç (born 27 August 1982) is a Turkish actress. She spent her childhood in the town of Ulus, located near Beşiktaş, İstanbul. She attended Yildiz College and studied at Mimar Sinan University, National Conservatoire, Theatre Department. Korel made her debut as Leyla in Kurtlar Vadisi: Irak (Valley of the Wolves: Iraq). She came to wide attention after starring as Şehrazat Evliyaoğlu in Binbir Gece, a Turkish television series which was popular not just in Turkey, but also in the Arab world and Eastern European countries. She also had a one-episode guest appearance in Muhteşem Yüzyıl as Monica Teresse. Currently she stars as Feride Şadoğlu (leading role) in the series Karadayı. Both of her parents Tanju Korel (d. 2005) and Hülya Darcan are also actors. She has an older sister, Zeynep, who lived for several years in the USA. In 2009 Korel married fellow actor Halit Ergenç, who was her partner in Binbir Gece. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Ali, in February 2010.
