Özcan Alper was born in 1975 in Artvin, Turkey. He studied Physics and History of Sience at Istanbul University. He attended various filmmaking workshops between 1996-2001. His first feature film, Autumn (2008), was shown at more than 60 international film festivals and won many prizes. Alper was nominated for the European Discovery Award of the European Film Academy. His second feature film, Future Lasts Forever (2011), hat its world premiere at the 36th Toronto International Film Festival.
