Yuri Averof was born in 1971 in Athens, Greece. He stydied anthropology and sociology in the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. From 1999, he has worked as a documentary director and cameraman. The last three years, he has directed over 10 documentaries for the series Reportage Without Frontiers broadcast by the Hellenic Broadcasting Corp.'s NET channel.
