Roumena is a leader (voevoda) of a rebellious gang in the brutal men's world of the 19th century. Forced to leave home, she discovers the fighter in herself but she has to pay the price. Voevoda is a film about standing up for one's choices while trying to conceal chieftainship and the struggles of a mother.
