Biography

Jure Pavlović graduated with a degree in Film and TV Directing from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. He has participated in numerous international workshops and talent venues including: Sources 2, MAIA, Microwave Film London Micro School, Motovun Film School, Jewish IFF Talent Workshop, Sarajevo Talent Campus, and Berlinale Talents (Short Film Station project lab). His short film “Half an Hour for Grandma” (2010) won the Golden Oil Lamp Award, an award for moral and ethics in Croatian films, at Days of Croatian Film, and toured festivals around the world. His second professional short film, “Umbrella” (2012), produced by Sekvenca company, which he founded, premiered at the 10th Mediterranean Short Film Festival in Tangier, Morocco, where it won the award for Best Director. Since then, it has won additional awards including Best Actor at the Days of Croatian film; the Remi Award at Worldfest Houston; and a special mention at Filmski Front Novi Sad; and has been showing at dozens of festivals around the world. His third short film “Picnic” (2015) had its premiere at 65th Berlinale International Film Festival (Generation program). Currently, he is developing his debut feature, “Just Close Your Eyes.”
